Life’s transitions, whether it's a change in marital status, the loss of a spouse, an inheritance, a career change, or retirement can often be extremely overwhelming. While we cannot always control life's challenges, we can develop the necessary skills to make transitional times easier to navigate.

Doris Roper, CDFA™ (Certified Divorce Financial Analyst) and CSA (Certified Senior Advisor) specializes in assisting clients through life’s major transitions. Having herself been through a number of these in the past as well as interviewing many women who have had to face those difficult challenges, and through research, she came to recognize the unique issues women faced with financial comprehension, decision-making, investing, retirement, and other life transitions.

With her compassion, patience and practicality, Doris helps her clients take control of their financial situation and answers the overwhelming questions that often arise while in the midst of transitional times, such as: "Where do I begin?", "What are my options?", "How do I manage my cash flow?" and "Where do I go from here?".

Marital Dissolution

When you're facing a divorce, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by everything. During these times, most people put themselves under undue stress worrying about their financial well-being. Much of that stress is due to the fear of the unknown. We will show you various scenarios that illustrate your future financial picture and design a financial plan to create comfort and safety for your new life.

Loss of a Spouse

After the loss of a spouse and in the midst of dealing with grief, there are a multitude of choices that accompany the role of being the sole financial decision-maker. Even in the best of cases where you and your loved one have adequately planned, you will need to understand your new options and learn how to make the proper decisions that will affect your future financial security.

Inheritance and Settlements

While wealth inheritance is often a blessing, it can also present great challenges. Even to the most sophisticated investor, an inheritance, new wealth from professional achievement or a settlement can bring a new layer of complexity to financial planning. Along with new tax issues there may be a need for assistance from additional specialists and advisors. The CRB team will create a strategy to help you make the most of your new wealth.

Career Transition

Career changes or executive level promotions are an ideal time to attend to retirement planning. A review of past and present investment choices and benefits can make a difference in determining your portfolio efficiency, security, and long-term performance.

Retirement

Entering retirement is very different than it was 10 or more years ago. With the ongoing advances in medical and health services, people are living longer lives. Careful financial planning and asset allocation strategies are necessary to ensure that you don’t outlive your retirement nest egg.
